WMIRA Championship Regatta May 14, 2011
Grey skies did not clear up, but oh did those B-CC fans cheer last Saturday as our Varsity Boys 1st Eight won the WMIRA Championship, beating Gonzaga by .2 seconds in a spectacular photo finish final race! Congratulations to Matt Speck `12 (cox), Erik Holmvik '13, Michael Colella '12, Harry Holroyd '11, Sam Weiner '12, Nick van der Vink '11, Matt Dutko '12, Adam Schlesinger '13, and Sam Murphy '12, and to coaches Dan Engler and Jessica Swartz.
Saturday's regatta marked the end of B-CC Crew's regular season, and what a fine finish it was. The Barons competed against 14 area public and private schools, all members of WMIRA, or the Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Rowing Association. Every B-CC boat came in 1st 2nd or 3rd in either a final or petite final race.

Post-season racing begins in Philadelphia on Friday, May20 when seven B-CC boats will compete in the 85th Annual Stotesbury Cup Regatta, the largest high school regatta in the country with 176 high schools, 868 boats, and 5,000 athletes.
